Hello everyone, this is a belated apology and update announcement.
First of all, we wish you all a Happy New Year!
We also have to regretfully announce to all players that the development plan for the Nan-hsang & Chen-ju Counterattack Operation scenario has been canceled.
The specific reasons are as follows:
After careful research, we found that the Shanghai war situation during this period was irreversible, and the counterattack plan formulated by the Chinese army was basically unfeasible. This made it difficult for us to make this stage of the Shanghai war into an independent scenario with a certain degree of playability. At this time, the Chinese army’s defense line was close to the edge of the game map, with no way to retreat, and it was difficult to organize an effective counterattack; while the Japanese army had already controlled most of the region on the map. In addition to continuing to break through the Chinese army’s already precarious frontal defense line, there was no other action that could be performed. We believe that such a scenario is not interesting for players on both sides.
Based on the above reasons, we have to cancel the development plan of the Nan-hsang & Chen-ju Counterattack Operation scenario, for which we deeply apologize.
Update content
To express our apologies, we have prepared another Battle of Shanghai (Historical Setup) scenario for you in this update. This scenario is based on the Campaign scenario of the Battle of Shanghai, and mainly makes the following adjustments:
- Remove all the Options of both sides and directly adopt the historical setting (now you can try to have a battle with AI based entirely on historical setup),
- The Chinese reinforcement units that originally entered the map from Nan-ching and Hang-chou now have a certain probability of entering the map directly from Nan-hsang (East), and the Chinese reinforcement units that originally entered the map from Lo-tien (West) can now freely choose the entry region between Lo-tien (West) and Nan-hsang (East).
