Winter news
Before everything, we would like first to wish all our clients and friends a Merry Christmas, as the celebration is nearing. Also, because this is our last newsletter for 2025, we anticipate and also wish you a Happy New Year 2026!
The year 2025 was incredible for us, with more new games released, and an overall increase in the number of our clients worldwide. We now roughly have one third of our customers split between North America, Asia and Europe each. This is a nice sharing and shows that the diversity of subject the SGS collection has tackled is appreciated throughout different countries and culture.
We have a lot of upcoming projects in 2026, some of which will come as surprising offers (see below) and deal with yet not covered subject. Others will be improvement of existing games, which is part of our ongoing policy. Let’s see the program.
As you may know, the SGS collection is made by different teams in addition to our main designer Philippe. We also have Laurent (Nato’s Nightmare, Fall Weiss, Battle for Hue, Dien Bien Phu) and Vincent (Overlord, Bulge, Ft Donelson, Avalanche) in France, Wang (Battle for Shanghai) in China, James in the UK, and also some aspiring designers talking with us. They are all very active on past, present and ongoing projects. Of course, they have many daily life obligations and are not full-time on our games, so some projects may come longer than expected. They can be delayed, but the authors are dedicated and the games will show up.

A Glimpse on Future Games
We are awaiting SGS Ashes of Dawn, a game designed by a new team, covering a post-apocalypse conflict in devastated Europe. Special news will come early this year on this game. Laurent is still working on SGS Nato’s Nightmare major update, a huge project that has suffered some delays and is now catching up again. Another project is also in his plans, for later this year. Vincent has two games underway, one on the Battle of Gettysburg (Vincent is a renown author and historian on the subject) and another grand strategic one on the WW2 campaigns in the West in 1944-1945. Wang has begun to work on ‘War of Resistance’ (the Second Sino-Japanese war of 37-45), another grand strategic epic set in Asia. The other games by SGS will come along the fly all over 2026, with a primacy to Burning Banners.
This is the great news of the end of the year. During the summer 2025, we have had very interesting talks with Compass Games and we have signed an agreement to port on the SGS engine their most successful recent heroic fantasy boardgame, Burning Banners (see here on BoardgameGeek). The game will be a most faithful visual and conceptual adaptation of the boardgame to the SGS engine, as we shall re-use the same art (units, map, heroes, overall look), and, of course, adjusted to the mechanisms and advantages the SGS engine can offer. It will contain all the scenarios of the boardgame, using both the basic and advanced rules. We opened the SGS Burning Banners game page on the SGS website, and are pleased to present herewith some Beta version screenshots of the current prototype. We expect to have a running version during Q1 of this year and our clients will be able to get it ahead of time in our shop during that time.

More SGS titles on our shop
Some were mentioned above (e.g. Gettysburg or War of Resistance) and will have their pages up as soon as we have enough content to show. More, yet unannounced, will come also, some as rather unusual themes and times.
Stay tuned during the early months of 2026 and enjoy the Season’s festivities.
